Tulum Mexico the town, the ruins and the beach are all within close proximity of each other and so are the resorts, hotels and cabanas. However to get a feel of where you are going here are a couple of maps and an interactive Tulum Map for you to explore the area. I particularly like the interactive map as you can zoom right in on the Tulum archeological site. To get around Tulum you don't really need a map as the area is in reality quite small, however, if you are the adventurous type then there are some great maps of Tulum available for purchase.
This is a simple map of the Tulum Mayan Ruins. As you can see they are not to large and easy to explore. This Mayan archeological site is surrounded by a wall on three sides and situated atop a cliff. The walls were to protect from attacks from land, and with a vantage point overlooking the Caribbean this ancient Mayan community were able to easily spot any marauding attackers coming from across the seas.
