On my travels around Tulum I just discovered a little gem of a hotel, called Green Tulum Cabanas and Gardens. This place is like a little tropical oasis, with gorgeous gardens a sparkling pool and the guestrooms are simply beautiful. It’s located right by downtown Tulum and probably only about 2 km from the beach, which you can walk, cycle or take a taxi to. The owners of Green Tulum are lovely people who really understand how to make you feel at home, cater to your every need and serve a delicious continental breakfast each morning. The rates are very reasonable at Green Tulum Hotel, especially when you consider the quality of the proerty. I highly reccomend next time you visit Tulum, stop by Green Tulum.

As I actually live in Cancun, the last few months have been a bit strange, what with the out break of swine flu (that never happened here) and drug wars (that never happened here). It’s been quieter than normal that’s for sure and unfortunately a lot of people suffered because of the lack of tourists.

However, things are picking up again now, people are booking their Cancun vacations again and returning to enjoy the warm sunshine and fun to be had in the region.

 The Cancun hotels were offering incredible deals for a while there. Which us locals took advantage of! You can still get great bargains though as the hotels try and fill up and make up for lost revenue.

I guess what I’m saying ultimately is come and visit us down here in Mexico. Cancun is not a dangerous place (unless you go looking for trouble). Come and relax with a massage, spend the days on the beach or by the pool with a tropical cocktail, dine in gourmet restaurants, discover the worl of the Maya and so much more!

The famous tenor Placido Domingo is all set to perform an incredible concert at the amazing Mayan site Chichen Itza in Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula. The concert on October 4th means a lot to Domingo because of his strong ties with the area. As a young child he grew up close by in the colonial city of Merida.
